About
-----
A girl, her mother's lantern, and towers a hundred storeys high.
Neri climbs a dreamed Japan of 1868 to find her mother Hana, and learns that light is not something you bring back. It is something you share.

LUMA has one verb: fold. Every wall in the game is stone and washi with visible seams. Pull a seam, and the wall opens into the way up.

Story
-----
The night of silence
Neri's mother Hana kept the lanterns. On the night the lights went out, she pressed her hand lantern into Neri's hands: Keep it warm. I will bring the other lights back. Then she climbed the stairs of the highest tower, into the mist.

Up is the only clue
Hana went up. So Neri climbs. She is twelve, brave but not fearless. She counts the steps, talks to the flame, and lights the lantern at the top of every tower she reaches. Each one gives back a breath of memory: a hand, a song, a pressed flower.

Light that is shared
On her way she meets a small Shiba called Mochi, a lantern master, a ferrywoman, a wandering monk, and Sumi, the woman in the white mask who put the lanterns out. Neri never fights. She learns that light does not grow less when you share it.
